Guest lecture on legal professional privilege at KU Leuven
Last Friday, our dispute resolution associate Marie-Julie Kormoss and competition associate Juliette Powis were invited for the third year in a row to give a guest lecture to law master’s students at KU Leuven on legal professional privilege and its implications for lawyers and in-house counsel.
This year’s session explored the differences between legal professional privilege under national and EU law, as well as the intersection of legal ethics and competition law.
Through case-based examples, the students explored how these differences play out in practice, particularly during dawn raids, where questions about which communications and documents are protected can arise immediately.

A heartfelt thank you to Professor Françoise Auvray and Pieterjan Naeyaert for providing this opportunity, and to the students for their valuable contributions.
