Yesterday was the first session of our two-day crash course on CSRD reporting, organised by Voka - Kamer van Koophandel Vlaams-Brabant in collaboration with Studio D and 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭, at our offices in Zaventem.
Karlien De Ryck and Bart Bellen discussed the legal framework and broader sustainability context, including the European Commission’s Omnibus proposal published on Wednesday (read the article on the Omnibus package here: https://lnkd.in/e8qZxTJb). Key take-aways from this first session:
• The Omnibus package, if approved, significantly reduces the number of in-scope companies
• However, sustainability goals and reporting remain top-of-mind for companies previously in-scope; a continued commitment to sustainability and transparency will give companies a competitive advantage
• VSME standards (voluntary sustainability reporting standards for non-listed SMEs) will be reviewed and are expected to be widely used as the reference for out-of-scope companies
We look forward to the second session on 14 March at our offices, during which we will continue our deep-dive on double materiality assessment and IROs (impacts, risks, opportunities) based on real-life examples.
Thank you Voka - Kamer van Koophandel Vlaams-Brabant for the organization and Studio D for the pleasant collaboration, and to all participants for the lively interaction.
