♻️🚨 Green Alert 🚨♻️
👀 Yesterday, the act on the ‘Directive to empower consumers for the green transition’ was signed by the President of the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers.
💡 This Directive is part of the European green transition and aims to strengthen consumer’s rights by:
– banning general environmental claims and other product information that is deemed to be misleading;
– regulating the use of sustainability labels;
– making guarantee information more visible; and
– creating a new harmonised label for goods with an extended guarantee period.
📅 The Directive will enter into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. Member states then have 18 months to transpose the Directive into national legislation.
