𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬!

✔️ 𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Don’t hesitate to seek clarification about a specific task if you’re uncertain. Asking questions not only saves time for both you and the collaborating lawyer but also enhances the final outcome. It demonstrates your deep engagement with the task.

✔️ 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲: After each assignment, actively ask for feedback (if not yet received). How? Simply ask, or if it’s not possible, request that the email or advice sent to the client be forwarded to you. By comparing it with your input, you can easily identify any alterations. If you don’t understand specific changes, seek more detailed input. Remember, asking for feedback demonstrates your commitment to growth and helps you improve your skills and optimise your performance.

✔️ 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬: As a law student, building connections with seasoned lawyers is crucial. During your summer internship, seize the opportunity to learn from them. They’re always ready to share significant and intriguing insights.

✔️ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬: Internships are more enjoyable when you’re in good company. Take the time to get to know not only the lawyers and other office members but also your fellow law students. Perhaps even enjoy a beverage together after office hours - it might lead to lasting friendships!
