Laura Sente joined contrast in September 2017 and was promoted to counsel in 2026. She is a member of the Competition & EU law team, handling in particular merger control, antitrust and State aid cases.
Over the years, she has developed strong expertise in EU and Belgian merger control. Laura advises clients on merger filings before the Belgian Competition Authority and the European Commission, and regularly assists with broader competition law issues arising in a transactional context.
Laura holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven, 2016) and obtained an LL.M. in EU Competition and Intellectual Property Law from the University of Liège (ULg) in 2017. During her studies, she participated in an exchange program at the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (Washington D.C.).
Laura contributed to the chapter on merger control in the book ‘Bos Door De Bomen – Mededingingsrecht’, published by LeA Uitgevers in 2025, and is also a co-author of the book ‘Gegevensbescherming in de praktijk’, published by Intersentia in 2019. She has further co-authored several publications on State aid and privacy and data protection.
Laura is a member of the Brussels bar. She speaks Dutch, English and French and has a good understanding of German.
