Yesterday, Book 6 "Extra-contractual Liability" was adopted after final vote in the plenary session of the Belgian House of Representatives. Just in time for the seminar on the new text, chaired by Koen Geens, attended by our corporate and commercial paralegals Marthe Wouters and Cathy Van den Branden.

"Change is always challenging. Book 6 proves to be no different. The new rules on concurrence, quasi-immunity and the transitional provisions in particular caused some interesting debates during the sessions."

Publication in the Belgian Official Gazette is expected in June, entry into force will follow 6 months later.

The new provisions will require an update of most contracts.
